Man Arrested in Clermont for Allegedly Performing Lewd Act in Window

A 19-year-old man was arrested Monday evening for allegedly performing a lewd act in front of neighbors.

According to reports, deputies were dispatched on Dec. 1 to an apartment located in Clermont.

The alleged victim said she was exiting her vehicle when she saw a naked man touching himself through an open window in his apartment. She claims the man looked directly at her and continued.

Deputies apparently found the man home alone, sleeping in his bedroom.

At the time of his arrest, the man was on probation for unrelated non-sexual charges, according to reports.

He was transported to the Lake County Jail where he is being held without bond on the violation of probation charges.

Under Florida law, you can be charged with lewd conduct if you engage in lewd behavior in a public place or solicit another to do so. Lewd acts include touching your private parts, or those of another, for the purpose of sexual gratification or with the intent of annoying or offending someone else. Lewd conduct can be charged if you knew or should have known that a third party was present.

These types of cases are usually taken out of context. There are several defense strategies for fighting a charge of lewd conduct, and our Villages Sex Crimes Defense Lawyers can help. Depending on the facts of your case, we may be able to argue that the location was not a public place, or that there was no reasonable odds that a third party would be offended by your actions.

The whole staff at Whittel & Melton was nice and always ready to help. However, I worked mostly with Jason. He demonstrated that he understood what to expect with our case and better that he cared about what was happening. I was very pleased with the outcome of our case.
