A Groveland man has been accused of having sex with several teenage girls and offering money to others to have sex.
He has been arrested for human trafficking.
The man was taken into custody after a 15-year-old girl allegedly showed up at the Lake County Sheriff’s Office and told detectives that during the year she had known the man, he repeatedly gave her drugs, and sometimes asked for sex in return. The girl said she refused.
Detectives apparently interviewed another 15-year-old, who claims she had sex on a regular basis with the man and admitted that on two occasions he videotaped those encounters with his phone and then downloaded them to his computer.
Deputies obtained a warrant and went to the man’s home, where they allege they found sexually explicit videos of him and the girl on the computer.
The man was charged with human trafficking/commercial sexual activity of a minor.
The charges this man faces are undoubtedly serious. The state views sex crimes as deplorable offenses that must be punished to the fullest extent of the law. Regardless of your innocence, police and prosecutors tend to side with the victim(s) in these cases. Sadly, it is your word against theirs.
