Fruitland Park Man Charged With Sexual Battery on a Child

A 55-year-old man was arrested Monday on three counts of sexual battery on a child.

The Fruitland Park man remained in the Lake County Jail on Wednesday in lieu of $300,000 bail on the charges.

According to Fruitland Park police, detectives launched an investigation into a complaint of possible sexual abuse made in March. After interviewing the victim and witnesses, alleged evidence was submitted to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

As a result of the alleged evidence presented to the State, the man was arrested.

Fruitland Park police have not released details surrounding the accusations.
