While most people try and operate their vehicles in a safe manner, there are certain motorists who blatantly disregard or ignore traffic laws when behind the wheel. These types of drivers have a lack of care for their own safety and jeopardize the safety of all others sharing the roadway with them. Sadly, numerous accidents resulting in serious injuries or death are caused by reckless driving such as speeding, running red lights, failures to yield, tailgating, making unsafe lane changes and even passing other vehicles in a designated no-passing zone.
When another drivers reckless actions on the road cause property damage, personal injury or even wrongful death, the injury victim or surviving family members have a right to recover certain financial damages. However, it is important to understand that there are time constraints on how long you have to take legal action, so it is in your best interest to obtain legal help as soon as possible.
